Skoolaborate

Okay,  so today is my mother's birthdays so I am really happy about that. I am also happy that I did my presentation and got it finished. I just wanted to say that I learned a lot from peoples presentations as well as my own. There was so much information that I didn't know about education and how I am just so blessed to be able to get a good education. I have the best of both worlds because I have the academics as well as the arts. I just want to make sure that someone can get to these poverty stricken and give them what they need in order to get them an education. Right now I am doing this skoolaborate scavenger hunt. It is really challenging. I am not really liking the questions that are being asked. It is really just making me sick because I cannot find the answers that I need and want. But I will find them, I just have to be patient. I am so over this hunt because the questions are hard. I am also a little upset at the fact that we cannot enter skoolaborate until they get the first payment. I have been apart of LACOE for 4 years and they move at there own pace. So we may never get to do this project and it makes me mad because  I was looking forward to making my own shoe store and going shopping and designing a nice big mansion and just living large and taking care of me, myself, and I.

Global Issues- Education for all

So Sammy and I presented the global issue entitled education for all. I was really excited because I am very passionate about education. Sometimes we who have the advantage of education and free education at that, take advantage. Its sad because there are lots of young people and young adults my age who are not able to get a good education. It is amazing to me to see so many countries who don't have schools on every corner like my country does. I just wish that everyone was able to be educated. However, I found out that some countries don't even have enough books to go around. That is amazing to me because I feel that we have to many books. I felt like this was a really good topic to cover because I will be able to help those who need the help. When I sit and talk with my friends I want to talk about something to productive to help others instead of talking about shopping or what I plan on doing this weekend. I am just all for getting education to everyone that deserves and needs it. I wish that I had the funds to help other countries out with their education disadvantages. Education is a really cool topic to cover because you are helping others and I really like to help others instead of always thinking about myself. I wish that each child had the same things that I had. A home, two sets of parents that love me, sibling, 3 sets of grandparents, a host of aunts uncles cousins, lots of friends, and last but not least an education so that I am able to get a good steady job and be able to support myself as well as any other person I can support. I feel that in order for you to succeed in life you need a good sturdy foundation and I think that foundation is called "EDUCATION"

Semester is almost Over

I am a little disappointed. The semester is almost over and that means that we have  5 months of school left. Meaning that school is almost over. Today we are working on our portfolio. It is so funny because I didn't realize how much work that I have done in this class. I have been an independent hard worker and I am just so proud of myself. All my hard work and dedication has paid off. I am a little sad because I just want to be able to do another year of this class, but I will be graduating. I am happy because I will be able to tell others about the class and all the great things that I have learned.

Outsourced Video

So I was speaking with a friend, and I am not a very patient person, and I was talking about waiting for my Outsourced video. I was upset because it delayed the progress of my video being done on time. I was mad because the week the project was due was the week I had lots of test. I was trying to prepare and got caught up in other things. I was really upset because I finished the video and I sent it to myself through email and I was not able to retrieve it at school. It was okay because from now on I will just do the project in class if I have time to do it in class. My classmates will be able to help me and too I will be able to understand what I am doing and talking about. I am not sure how the video came out because I was rushed. This showed me that deadlines in this class are important and you must prepare for them or else you will come in unprepared. I learned my lesson and I will not do it again. It was a really cool project and I wish I was here one more year just for this class. I will probably be able to come back and do it if they allow me. It was cool to see what other people from other states as well as other countries find interesting and fun and exciting.

Flat Classroom Project 6

Well hello,

I have been on vacation and have missed this class terribly. I was thinking of what I could do on my break and there was nothing I could think of anything. Well I have finished the flat classroom 6 and I am very proud of myself. I didn't realize that there was so much that I could do on a computer. I mean I know you can do a lot if you know how to work a computer, but I didn't know that there was so much that I could do. It was really cool to learn of so many free opportunities that were offered on the web. It was really cool. I had fun working with my classmates. I got to learn a little bit more about my class mates and I was honored to work with them. They taught me so much that I had know Idea I could do. It was an overall fun experience.

Student Summit

December 15, 2008

Last Friday, the class did the student summit with students from Oman. It was so cool. There accents where so cool and I just love to hear them talk. I was the first one to go and I was so nervous, but I wasn't even talking face to face with them. I was excited to hear all of what they learned in there project. Almost everyone had the same weakness, which was they did not have enough time. And it was true. You must try to balance your time and it gave me a reason to establish time management. I have to be able to manage my time between school and extra curricular activities. I must do what is important first and then do my other thing that I have on the side. I was happy that it was over but I wish that we could talk with other schools from different countries from all over the world like once a month. I would love to do that because it opens your eyes to new cultures and it strengths you as a person to venture out and see what else is out there. 

Video Done

So 2 weeks ago I finished my video and I was so happy. It was totally hard because I did not have enough time. My friend Olivia helped me tons. We had lots of fun. I never really understood what it took to sit and edit, but now I do. It takes hard work and dedication. I was so tired to seeing the same thing over and over again. I was a little upset because I had to wait on my outsourced video. There should be a deadline for the outsourced video. I posted my outsourced video and I didn't get mines for 2 and half weeks. I was mad because I couldn't finish my video without it. Then, I finished my video at home and it didn't save on my flash drive. I was so mad. I had to come to school the next day and start over again. It was rushed, but for the most part it was an okay video. I know that I could have done better if I had a little bit more time. Too, there was only one camera and can you imagine 6 people trying to use 1 camera. It was a nightmare. All in All, it was nice though and I really cannot wait until we did again just with more time.
